Anchor Engineering Performs Work at
Millstone Nuclear Power Station
Anchor Engineering has teamed
with Kleinschmidt Associates to perform an Ecolocgial Impact Study at the Millstone
Nuclear Power Station in Waterford, CT. This two-year
study will monitor baseline impingement and the presence of any rare,
threatened, or endangered species at the facility's cooling
water intake structures. The results of the study
will be utilized to design controls for the purpose
of limiting impingement mortality.
Fifth Anchor Designed Bridge Makes State Manual Cover
A
fifth bridge designed by Anchor Engineering recently made the cover
of the CT
DOT Local Bridge Program Manual. The cover for the 2010
CT DOT Local Bridge Program Manual
features Bridge No. 04026 on Hillhouse Avenue over the
historic Farmington Canal Heritage Greenway on the campus of
Yale University in New Haven, CT. This project was funded by the
Federal Local bridge Program, Yale University and the City of New Haven.
Anchor Engineering provided land surveying, roadway design, vehicular bridge design, local regulatory
agency assistance, construction administration and full time inspection services
for this project. Construction is currently ongoing. See
pictures of the construction progress here
. Four of our other context-sensitive bridge design projects have made the cover of past CT DOT Local Bridge Program Manuals in 1999 (Sand Hill Road Bridge, Hampton, CT), 2003 (Old Kings Highway Bridge, Hampton, CT), 2007 (Village Hill Road Bridge, Columbia, CT) and 2009 (Bolton Road Bridge, Vernon, CT).
